Why are students coming into Teams as guests?

If a student tries to access a Teams meeting without being logged into their Flinders account they will be added as a guest and taken to the lobby.

Participants in the lobby will need to be manually admitted into the class.

Students can avoid this in future by logging into their Flinders account (which uses their FAN) in Teams before joining the class.

Admit or deny participants

Once the meeting starts, you, co-organisers, and presenters can admit (or deny) people from the lobby. You can change participant meeting roles in meeting options.

To admit or deny participants:

Select People in your meeting window.
Under Waiting in lobby:
1. Select the check mark next to someone’s name to admit them.
2. Select the x next to someone’s name to deny them.
3. Select Admit all to admit everyone from the lobby.
